mariposa stage play

Mariposa portrays the life of the Rodriguez’s, a Mexican American Family living in a small home in Baldwin Park California, about twenty miles East of Los Angeles.

Mari and her mother Selma tend to her grandfather, Elias, who is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia. During a dinner, Selma's siblings, Victor and Bob, confront the difficulties of caring for their ailing father and the possibility of selling the family home.

The play was commissioned as part of A Place Called Home and its 3rd annual El Centro del Sur Latinx Theater Festival.
